Bhargesh Mehta, MD, FAAP
Dr. Bhargesh Mehta graduated from BJ Medical College and completed his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry at New Jersey (UMDNJ) and Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a Board Certified pediatrician and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Bhargesh Mehta has been serving the Calvert County community since 1997. He has hospital privileges at Calvert Health Medical Center and affiliated privileges at Anne Arundle Medical Center. He is undoubtedly a healthcare leader in his community and has served as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Calvert Health Medical Center.
Dr. Mehta enjoys teaching and participates in several Career Days through Calvert County Public Schools. He also presents Baby Care Basics at Calvert Health Medical Center.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling, and playing table tennis and badminton with his two children.
Parul Jani — Calvert County, MD — Bhargesh P. Mehta MD PA
Parul Jani, MD
Dr. Jani completed her residency training in Internal Medicine (Adult Medicine) at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and actively participates in Maintenance of Certificate (MOC) as advocated by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Jani enjoys working with a variety of age ranges and accepts patients aged 16 to 100! Her expertise includes managing complex chronic diseases associated with the cardiologic, respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological, and endocrinological systems, like diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and heart disease. She is a strong advocate for preventive physical and mental health, including the prevention of dementia, depression, cancers, osteoporosis, and chronic diseases of aging.
In her free time, Dr. Jani enjoys gardening, listening to NPR, cooking healthy meals, and spending time with her two children.
Monica Mehta, MD, MBA
Dr. Monica Mehta is a board-certified pediatrician who graduated from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed her MBA at Johns Hopkins University. 
Dr. Monica Mehta is a native of Calvert County and is excited to be serving the community she considers home. Throughout her training, Dr. Monica received several awards for her exceptional teaching ability, humanism in medicine, and dedication to the care of children. She currently serves as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Calvert Health Medical Center.
In her free time, Dr. Monica Mehta enjoys posting informational videos and pictures on the practice’s Facebook and Instagram pages (follow her @DrMehtaPediatrics), as well as trying new restaurants and spending time with her husband and son.
Patricia Smawley, FNP-C
Patricia Smawley completed both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Chamberlain University College of Nursing. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Prior to pursuing her nurse practitioner degree, Patricia served the community for 10 years as a nurse in the local emergency department. Her professional interests include providing cohesive physical and psychiatric health and wellness.
Patricia currently resides in Huntingtown with her husband and two children. She enjoys the outdoors, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
 Amanda Grab, DNP, FNP-C, CLC
Amanda Grab is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice. Amanda completed her Master of Science from Walden University and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Capella University. Recognizing the lack of lactation support in the community, she achieved her certified lactation certification.

After losing her first daughter to a rare genetic condition, Amanda became passionate about advocating, supporting, and educating her patients and families about their medical care and preventative health. 

Amanda currently resides in Calvert County with her husband and daughter. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, completing DIY home projects, and exploring new places.

Leah Nottingham, FNP-C


Leah Nottingham is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who completed both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlin University.


Before pursuing her master's degree, Leah worked as an emergency room nurse in multiple local trauma centers specializing in both adult and pediatric emergency care. Her professional interests include management and treatment of acne and physical health and wellness in the adolescent population.


Leah currently resides in Calvert County with her husband and two children. She enjoys the ocean, spending time with her family and friends along with raising chickens and gardening.
